Lakers break Celtics 12 game winning streak!

Lakers played the Celtics last night and it was a game for the ages. This was a statement game for the Lakers. Lakers were without Andrew Bynum and had to prove they can compete against the Celtics without him.

"We had something to prove to ourselves," Bryant said. "This was a statement game for us."
Without their emerging big man, Andrew Bynum, the Lakers walked out of the new Boston Garden late Thursday night with smiles from ear-to-ear and their heads held high after a 110-109 overtime victory against the defending world champs.
"I won't lie to you," Walton said. "This one was big. It was real big. We all remember what it felt like and while this still doesn't make it for it, it's still nice."

Great game, the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have definitely renewed there rivalry.

UCLA HUGE Recruiting Day 2009

UCLA brings in a huge recruiting class for 2009. We all know that there were a few guys that were signing with UCLA no matter what. But the amount of players who were verbally committed to other colleges and changed there commitment to UCLA makes them an instant recruiting powerhouse under Coach Rick Neuheisel. Reports say that UCLA went from #20 class to #4 today. Wow, great job! Im excitted to see what these players do in the next 3-4 years. Hope someone youtubes Randall Carroll running sprints against Damien Thigpen. Both are favorites to be State Champs in track this season.

Smithsonian Museum, wants Aretha Franklin's inauguration day hat

The Los Angeles Times reports that the hat’s designer, Luke Song, has been overwhelmed with demand for the $179 item. (Aretha’s custom-made version cost over $500.)But while the Smithsonian wants the original, Aretha’s not sure if she wants to give it up.

“I am considering it. It would be hard to part with my chapeau since it was such a crowning moment in history. I would like to smile every time I look back at it and remember what a great moment it was in American and African-American history. Ten cheers for President Obama,” she said in a statement, according to New York Magazine.
