Taylor is running to New England
The terms and financial details of the contract, which will be officially signed on Friday, were not immediately available. The deal was confirmed by team sources and sources close to the player.
The addition of Taylor provides the Patriots a veteran back who could battle fourth-year veteran Laurence Maroney for the starting job. It also continues the Patriots' recent tradition of adding veteran backs to bolster their depth chart.

Deadline nears for council seats..
Two are incumbents Tommy Spencer, Dist. 2, who so far looks to face one opponent, Sandra Kay Wilson, and Jack Jones, Dist. 4, who could remain the lone man on the ballot , if no one else files to run against him by March 13.
Wilson, a native of Terrell, says the decision to run is fueled by a desire to see progress in her district, while Jones and Spencer cite unfinished business as one of the reasons they would like to return to the council.
“There are a lot of things we’ve got on the drawing board that I’d like to see completed,” said Jones, who is eligible for one more term.
“I basically want to be part of completing some of the things that we started and continue to support my constituency,” Spencer said.
Wilson said she has been polling the neighborhood to find out what’s most important to residents and that will determine what she can do for them.
To run for office, prospective candidates must have lived within their district for at least six months prior to election day, May 9. They must also be a U.S. Citizen and registered Texas voter. Council members serve three-year terms.
According to the city’s Web site, anyone previously convicted of a felony is ineligible for a council seat.
Citizens who wish to run for office may file a sworn application for a place on the ballot with the City Secretary by 5 p.m., March 13.

Holmes fined for celebration, but not flagged?
The NFL fined Holmes $10,000 for using the football as a prop during his post-catch celebration, which came well after the play ended. Holmes, impersonating NBA star LeBron James’ pregame ritual of tossing powder into the air, shook the football and tossed it after his 6-yard scoring catch with 35 seconds sealed Pittsburgh’s 27-23 victory.
The Steelers were not penalized for excessive celebration, apparently because the officials were getting ready for the point-after attempt and did not see Holmes’ display in the corner of the end zone.
Two weeks ago, NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira said the celebration should have drawn a 15-yard penalty on the following kickoff. Such penalties result in an automatic $10,000 fine.
However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said before the Pro Bowl that the NFL competition committee may consider making such celebrations legal if they occur long after a play ends.
“As you know, part of this rule is to avoid having a reaction from opposing players and, from what I could see, only seeing it once, it didn’t seem like it was anywhere near that,” Goodell said.
Holmes auctioned off the gloves he wore during the catch for $70,200, but that money will be donated to charity.
The NFL Network first reported the Holmes fine.

Thunder say N.O. to Chandlers toe jam
In the hours after the Oklahoma City Thunder stunningly voided their trade for New Orleans Hornets center Tyson Chandler, league executives questioned why the Thunder would give up on what appeared to be such a promising deal.
The weight of the trade, four league officials said, rested on Chandler’s left big toe. During Chandler’s physical, the Hornets’ medical staff, in consultation with outside doctors, raised concerns about a lingering turf-toe condition.
“It’s not going to end his career,” one source familiar with Chandler’s medical history said, “but it could hinder it.”
One of the reasons the Hornets wouldn’t have expected any complications with the trade was that Chandler had surgery on the toe in April 2007 when the Thunder’s team doctor, Carlan Yates, had been the Hornets’ doctor in Oklahoma City. The Hornets had reason to assume that Thunder management had thorough access to Chandler’s medical records.
“You try to take emotion out of the equation and make as objective a decision as possible,” Presti said by phone Wednesday night. “This was extremely disappointing for everyone involved.

Can Kobe and Shaq RE-NEW their vows for another Championship?
One more big body needed for the Los Angeles Lakers to clinch this thing, according to Los Angeles Times columnst Bill Plaschke.
Why not Shaq?
Why not bring back a guy who is no longer disliked by Phil Jackson, no longer a threat to Kobe Bryant, and no longer an embarrassment to himself?
The Phoenix Suns are open to trading everyone with a pulse. The Lakers are looking to close the deal on a championship. As recently as a month ago, everyone was dying to get rid of Lamar Odom and . . .
OK, OK, I get it. This is not a deal you make now.
I wouldn't trade Odom now that he's finally looked in a mirror. I wouldn't bring the Big Combustion into the steadiest room in the league.
No Shaq now.
But don't say no Shaq never.

Shaq shoe leaves HUGE imprint on PRES. OBAMA...
For a basketball playing obsessed President, nothing could of possibly been a better gift then a size 23 sneaker personally autographed by Shaquille O'Neal.
The Phoenix Suns center couldn't be around himself when President Barack Obama arrived at Sky Harbor International Airport Tuesday afternoon. So when the president stepped off of Air Force One, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon's son Jake made the presentation at the foot of the stairs.
Obama reportedly set it on the ground next to his own, much smaller shoe, and grinned as photographers captured the moment. Then Obama scooped it up and took it with him as he stepped into the presidential limo.

Thunder strikes on Tyson Chandler
The Hornets received forwards Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox in exchange for their best interior defender.
ESPN.com reported early Monday that the Hornets -- who have been looking to move Chandler mostly for financial reasons -- were in talks with the Thunder on a trade that would net the expiring contracts of Smith and Wilcox. Thunder general manager Sam Presti is a long-time admirer of Chandler dating to his time with the San Antonio Spurs.
The Thunder also possess numerous draft picks to sweeten trade packages -- including five first-round picks in the next two drafts -- but Presti was able to land an accomplished center to complement his promising young trio of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green without surrendering any major draft considerations.
With a payroll at nearly $67 million this season and scheduled to reach almost $77 million next season, New Orleans felt it had to part with Chandler before Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline regardless, even though dealing away the 26-year-old almost certainly takes the Hornets out of serious playoff contention in the West.

Late Night Valentine's @ Table Fifty-Two
President Obama and his Wife and out country's First-Lady Michelle went out last night to Table Fifty-Two in Chicago to celebrate their Valentine's. As you can tell they both look very happy out and their chef was Oprah's once personal chef, ART SMITH, who is also the owner of this fine establishment.
For their first big date since the inauguration, the Obamas selected Table Fifty-Two, an upscale establishment where the menu features decadent southern fare such as pan-seared catfish, low-country shrimp with stone-ground grits and buttermilk fried chicken. Red velvet cake was the dessert special Saturday evening.
I might have to go down there to get myself some Red Velvet cake because it certainly sounded tasty...and I'm sure the leftovers they had when they arrived home were pretty tasty as well.
KRYPTO-NATE over powers SUPERMAN
Nate Robinson tugged on Superman’s cape—and won.
The diminutive New York Knicks guard beat defending champion Dwight Howard of Orlando in an electrifying slam dunk contest on Saturday night, winning 52 percent of fans’ votes.
Clad in an all-green Knicks uniform with green shoes, the 5-foot-9 Robinson springboarded over the 6-foot-11 Howard to jam.
“Dwight was a great sport letting me dunk over him,” said Robinson, who also won in 2006.
Robinson pitched the idea to Orlando’s big man on Friday.
“I asked him yesterday in the elevator,” Robinson said. “He was like, ‘Hey, I’ll do it.’ I thought he was joking.”
Howard said he was happy to help him out.

Erin Andrews Sexiest Sportscaster?
That girl is so DANGERous!
with Ray J.
“I was locked in a mansion with him and 13 girls from October until the end of December. Toward the end of the first week of filming, we made love for the first time - and we slept together every night after that.”
Monica says she was on the Pill, but the contraception failed during that period. She is now engaged to marry rapper/actor Nick Cannon’s brother Gabriel.
The vixen has allegedly told Ray J about their pending bundle of joy, and the star is reportedly eager to get involved in the child’s life.
But Monica isn’t so sure that’s what she wants.
“I saw him playing around with other girls - making out with them and smacking their butts, and it made me sick to think he could be giving me their germs when he was kissing me.”
A representative for the show has branded Monica a liar, simply saying: “We’ve been told that the story is not true.”

The HEAT gets turned up on D-Wade and its not in MIAMI
A former business partner of Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade is telling Page2Live that he saw remnants of sex parties at a Miami Beach apartment used by the married Wade and his entourage.
What's more, says Euro blue-blood Baron Richard Von Houtman, he witnessed on two occasions Wade puffing away on marijuana cigarettes, once with a teammate.
Wade's publicist, Lisa Joseph, e-mailed this statement Monday afternoon: "It's a shame that a disgruntled former business associate is peddling these fairy tales to fit his own personal agenda."
Von Houtman's revelations come as the image of perfection that Wade has been building since his 2003 arrival into the NBA is being shattered. He remains one of the league's most popular players the world over, and he's headed to the All-Star Game in Phoenix Sunday.
But his soon-to-be-ex wife, Siohvaughn, recently claimed in a motion made in their divorce case in their native Chicago that her hubby of eight years gave her an undisclosed STD caught outside the marriage. She also said Wade, who was known as one of the most religious Heat players, abandoned her and their two sons.
Wade's attorney in the divorce, Jim Pritkin, called the claims false and said Monday that Siohvaughn withdrew the motion that included the accusations.
Von Houtman described used condoms on the floor of the bedrooms, obvious signs of sexual activities on all the beds, empty champagne and hard-liquor bottles, nearly-finished blunts and half-eaten food rotting on tables and furniture.
"They'd have these parties in there two or three times a week," Von Houtman said. "There were always dozens of people in there. Rappers, Dwyane and his entourage, women they'd pick up in clubs."

Chris Brown takes "Bleeding Love" to a whole new level
“At one point, Rihanna caught Chris flirting with Leona. They were carrying on and laughing, and Rihanna saw Chris with his hand on the small of Leona’s back. It may have been innocent, but that set Rihanna off," says a source to Star mag.
Could this be the argument that set Brown off later that night?
This news doesn't surprise us one bit. We had a feeling this couple was having problems keepin' it together. Brown's rumored cheating just confirms our suspicions.
As for an update on Rihanna's health, her Grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, released a statement to Barbados' Daily Nation newspaper saying, "I don't want people to worry. Rihanna is fine and she is doing well."
Will Shaq and Amare get Burnt out of Phoenix?
Mostly, Phoenix needs to avoid looking desperate. Yet Sarver – who has a reputation for being impulsive and overzealous – has left teams dubious of believing Kerr’s bluff that he doesn’t have to trade Stoudemire.
For the Suns to bring back a package for Stoudemire which makes more basketball than financial sense, sources say, they’ll have to move the contracts of Shaquille O’Neal or Leandro Barbosa.
So far, rival GMs insist there’s no market for O’Neal – that the balance of the $20 million owed him this season and the $20 million he’ll earn next season make him untradeable.

Cover Girl Stands by Rihanna while Chris Brown loses his "Got Milk" Campaign..
A rap sheet doesn't do a body good—particularly Chris Brown.
The folks behind the popular "Got Milk?" spots have announced they're dropping the R&B star from their celeb roster, two days after Brown was busted for allegedly roughing up Rihanna.
"The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously," the Body by Milk Campaign said in a statement. "We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens."
The "Say Goodbye" singer began donning the mustache in spots last fall. In a case of auspicious timing (or so Body by Milk insists), the ads were due to stop running this week.
On Monday, Wrigley Chewing Gum stopped running all ads featuring Brown touting Doublemint. And the NBA announced that he would not be participating in this weekend's All-Star Game festivities in Phoenix. It's also doubtful he'll show up for Thursday's NAACP Image Awards, for which he and Rihanna are both nominated.
While Brown is losing air time, Rihanna will still be featured as part of a massive CoverGirl campaign.
The cosmetics company said it would continue running TV and print ads starring the 20-year-old "Live Your Life" chanteuse but declined to comment on the situation. “Out of respect for our CoverGirls, we do not share information regarding their personal lives.”
The singer, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was released from Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after being treated for bruises, cuts and what appeared to be bite marks on her body.
She is apparently still in Los Angeles and reportedly helping authorities with their ongoing investigation into the incident. She did, however, postpone a sold-out gig scheduled for Friday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and her 21st birthday party celebration set for Feb. 20 in New York.
Neither she nor Brown has publicly commented on the incident.
DJ Khaled was not involved in LA car chase.
DJ Khaled released this statement on his myspace page, due to recent press and news reports I feel compelled to release a statement. These reports are completely false and unfounded. DJ Khaled

For more than three hours, the driver of a luxury Bentley sedan led police on a low-speed car chase along some of Los Angeles' busiest freeways before shooting himself to death, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The driver of the $100,000-plus Bentley with Illinois plates was identified as a businessman of Pakistani origins, the newspaper says. No name was given.
The shooting occurred about an hour and a half after the suspect had finally stopped the car near the scene of an earlier alleged assault with a deadly weapon against his girlfriend, the Timessays. The man shot himself as police surrounded the car and later died at a hospital, the newspaper says.
Rihanna Bloody and Bruised!
We've also heard that Rihanna may have suffered bite wounds on one of her legs and arms, however, one source close to the situation tells us he doubts that is the case.
Chris Brown has been booked on a felony criminal threats charge. If the D.A. files the case, domestic violence charges could be added.

Chris Breezy and Girlfriend Rihanna are a NO show at the Grammy's
Los Angeles police officer Karen Smith says Brown walked into a station around 7 p.m. and was being interviewed by detectives. Smith said he was not in custody.
Police say the 19-year-old singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood early Sunday when they began arguing, and the argument escalated when they got out of the car.
Police say the woman identified Brown as her attacker, but he was gone by the time officers arrived.
Both Brown and his girlfriend, fellow singer Rihanna, were no-shows for Sunday night's Grammy Awards. Both were nominated and scheduled to perform.
