All over the web yesterday, news outlets and blog sites were swarming around to find out who this mystery "Candidate 5" was in response to the scandal which indicted Illinois Governor Blagojevich, on the grounds of trying to sell Barack Obama's vacated senate seat in Illinois.Allegedly "Candidate 5" was no other then Jesse Jackson Jr. and the allegations on media outlets and websites have created a circus to find information to what extent he was involved in trying to purchase the vacated seat. From FBI officials yesterday "Candidate 5" was allegedly willing to purchase the seat to some degree.
Jackson came out this morning and said "I've done nothing wrong" and "the facts will bear themselves out." Jesse Jackson Jr. has not been accused of any direct wrong doing yet. Many facts from this case are still "hearsay" and alleged acts, and Jackson has provided his commitment to the FBI to transparency and openness on the case. So within the next few days there should be more substantial solid information.
